Like many genealogists, founder Ian Lamont got started with family history at home, listening to family stories, looking at photographs, and asking questions about heirlooms and artifacts. We want to help others connect with their roots, preserve their research, and share their discoveries.

EasyGenie's origin story
In the early 1980s, my mother had the foresight to make audio recordings with my late grandfather, a U.S. Navy veteran.
He shared his life story, from growing up in a rural county, surviving the Great Depression, and settling down after WWII to raise a family.
I discovered the tapes more than a decade later ... and was hooked on family history!
I conducted additional research, uncovering more details. Many were written on paper, such as the fragile handwritten family tree drawn by my great-grandmother in the early 1930s. I also gathered data in person, including interviews with my great-aunt on my father's side before she passed, as well as my father-in-law, a quiet veteran of WWII and a civil war in his own country.
It dawned on me that what our families have been doing nearly 100 years - preserving stories and research for future generations - is in fact the origin story of EasyGenie.
It inspired us to create even better tools to preserve and share genealogy!

We provide fast, free shipping. Most items are shipped within 3-5 business days of receiving cleared payment. We ship to the lower 48 contiguous United States only. We do not ship to P.O. Boxes or APOs. For select items, we ship internationally through eBay?s Global Shipping Program. We do ship most of our smaller items internationally using eBays Global Shipping Program. If ordering electrical items outside of the U.S., please note that they will come equipped with a standard U.S. voltage plugs. You will need a suitable adapter to use the item in your country. Returns
We offer a 30 day return/exchange policy for most of our products. You can request a refund if you are dissatisfied for any reason with your product. (Restocking Fee May Apply). Only factory defects are accepted as a reason for a return. In the case of factory defects, if available, we will replace the product for you. When returning an item, it must be in all of the original packaging and include all of the original accessories or items that came with it. The item and package should be in original and perfect condition. You will be required to cover shipping on the return of non-defective items. All returns MUST be done within 30 days of date of purchase. Please note that we cannot give refunds or replacements after the 30 day limit has expired. When sending in a return, please note that it can take up to 7 business days for the return to be processed. We do our best to process as quickly as possible.
