John Howland of the Mayflower books are the Silver Book standard currently used by the General Society of Mayflower Descendants for four of the Howland descents. These are the rarest official Mayflower books and out of print.
Elizabeth Pearson White, the author, was the Historian General of the Mayflower Society. She died refusing to allow the Mayflower Society to reprint her work due to a publishing dispute. The Mayflower Society continues to use this current (second) edition as their standard, intermittently suggesting they will rewrite it as a Silver Book. Years have passed and this is still the standard.
This is a new, still in wrapper from publishing, edition of volume 1 covering five generations from John Howland’s first child Desire Howland, wife of Captain John Gorham (see cover).
